Safecircles Counselling is committed to offering tailored support for individuals living with disabilities who have experienced trauma in their lives. Our approach is inclusive and compassionate, aiming to empower and facilitate healing for all clients, and their families and carers/support workers, regardless of their unique circumstances.

Consent is a fundamental aspect of all sexual relationships. It is important for individuals with disabilities to grasp what consent means and learn how to express their wishes and boundaries. Consent goes beyond agreeing to participate in an activity; it includes the right to change one's mind at any time. Statistics reveal that individuals with disabilities face a significantly higher risk of abuse, making it crucial for them to understand their rights.

Protective behaviours also play an essential role. These behaviours equip individuals with the skills to identify inappropriate actions and respond effectively. For example, people who have been educated on protective behaviours are 50% more likely to report uncomfortable situations compared to those without this knowledge. By encouraging individuals to trust their instincts and speak up if they feel unsafe or uncomfortable, we create a safer environment.
